Get Ready for Mother’s Day or How to Draw Flowers

Mother’s Day is coming, but you still have a few days to prepare a very special gift. Why don’t you give your mom a flower drawn by you instead of giving her a flower grown by someone else? However, you can bring a few kinds of flowers with you – some real flowers and some drawn flowers. More than likely your mom will enjoy them all.

If you would like to draw a beautiful flower especially for your mother and don’t know what to start with, we suggest you to watch the video tutorials listed below. Each video tutorial teaches how to draw a certain flower (a rose, a daffodil, a tulip, an orchid, a violet or a lily). Depending on your mom’s favorite flowers, you can choose which tutorial to follow.

Drawings of Celebrities, Part 1 – Women Celebrities

We hope you remember our post entitled Celebrity Caricatures – Inspiration and How-Tos. It was featuring the most helpful tutorials on how to draw celebrity caricatures.

Although it’s funny to draw the caricatures of famous people, it’s also exciting to draw their portraits, right? With this in mind we’ve found a lot of videos that explain how to draw celebrities. Note, it’s the first part of the article and it’s all about women celebrities, but next week we’ll publish the second part that will show you how to draw famous men.

As you watch the videos listed below you’ll notice that some portraits look more realistic than others. Also, most artists keep silence when they draw the portraits of celebrities and that’s why some videos are more the sources of inspiration than video tutorials. Nevertheless, a few artists share useful tips on how to draw celebrities.

We did our best to find as many videos as we could. Moreover, most women are introduced by several drawings because each drawing offers a unique view of their beauty.

What about learning how to draw caricatures? We think it’s a timely question because April Fools’ Day is just around the corner and your drawing skills may help you to play a joke with your friends. Imagine being the center of attention by making everyone laugh with your wonderful caricatures.

Basically a caricature is what you get when you play with proportions. It’s a graphic joke and could be an amusing present.

Before you start drawing your first caricature we suggest you to watch the video tutorials below. Each of these tutorials teaches how to draw caricatures. Please remember watching others is a great way to learn techniques. Some artists draw caricatures from photos, others prefer to draw caricatures from mind. Whatever way you choose you should pay great attention to details. The first thing you should do is to study the facial characteristics of the person you want to draw. Then you should find the prominent features of his/her face to exaggerate in the caricature. And the most important, the person you draw should be still recognizable in the caricature.
